This conversation between esteemed government and policy leaders will aim to bridge the divide, and explore how we can learn from our colleagues and neighbors across the aisle on where progress is most possible.

Like solving for other critical social challenges, there is a role to play in gun violence prevention for private philanthropic support, social innovation and entrepreneurship, and innovative tools and solutions. This conversation will explore some of the wide-ranging ways that capital is being deployed and invested to solve the gun violence challenge and where more focus needs to be placed in the future.

Experts will discuss innovative prevention strategies, community-based interventions, and the critical role of connection in addressing this urgent public health crisis.

Even as the federal political landscape is shifting, local and state government leaders will continue to lead on the issue of gun violence prevention and will focus on finding new ways to reduce gun violence and support survivors. Centering the voices of community members impacted by gun violence and building national, nonpartisan coalitions have been central pieces of this work. This panel will feature state and local officials, as well as a survivor advocate for a conversation about the progress they’ve made over the past year and their plans for 2025.
